Preparing For Building Control Inspections

The work that should happen before you call the inspector. Half-hour of preparation saves a wasted visit.

Before booking

Walk the work yourself against the previous inspection comments. Open up anything that needs to be visible. Lay out the drawings and product datasheets.

Would you have spotted this?

On the day

Be on site. Have the approved drawings ready. Have ladders or access where the inspector will need them. The cleaner the site, the faster the visit.

After

Get the comments in writing. Communicate them to the client the same day. Plan the remediation before the next inspection is booked.
